Funded trader markets: what the term means and what you can trade

"Funded trader markets" covers two questions: how a funded account works, and which markets you can trade on one. Here are both answers, with every figure taken from the WhitePips plan pages.

Two questions in one search

People who search for "funded trader markets" usually want one of two things. Some want to know what the funded trader model is: how a trader gets an account, what it costs and how profit is shared. Others already know the model and want to know which markets they can actually trade on a funded account. This article answers both, using the WhitePips plans as the worked example, with every figure taken from the published plan pages.

The model: a simulated account, a published rulebook, a share of the profit

A funded trader account at WhitePips works like this:

  • You pay a one-off fee for an account. It is not a subscription, and it is not a deposit: no trading capital of yours goes onto the account.
  • The account is simulated. It trades against live market prices in a simulated environment, with virtual capital.
  • You trade it to published rules: loss limits on every plan, and a profit target on the evaluation plans.
  • Once the account is funded, you can request payouts of your share of the profit, which are paid in real money under the Payout Policy.

There are two ways to reach a funded account. On an evaluation you first reach a profit target without breaching the loss limits. On an instant account the account is funded the moment you buy it, and there is no target to pass. The instant funding or evaluation article compares the two routes in detail.

Which markets you can trade

WhitePips runs two separate product lines, each on its own platform.

CFDs on MetaTrader 5

The CFD line covers forex, metals, energies, indices, stocks and crypto. You trade them on MetaTrader 5, on the web, on desktop, on iPhone and on Android. Every instrument, with its pip or point value, leverage, margin and commission, is listed on Symbols and commission.

Commission is charged per lot, round turn, and is the same in the evaluation and once funded:

  • On Edge and Instant: forex $5, metals $6, energies $6; indices and stocks free; crypto 0.06% of the trade value.
  • On Prime: forex $4, metals $5, energies $6; indices and stocks free; crypto 0.045% of the trade value.

Leverage is published per plan: 1:100 on Edge 1 Step, Edge 2 Step and Prime 2 Step, 1:50 on Prime 1 Step, 1:33 on Instant Pro and 1:25 on Instant Go. It is a ceiling, not a target. In practice your position size is set by the Max. Exposure rule, which scales with the account: 5,000% of the balance on a $2.5K account down to 1,000% at $200K. The Max. Exposure article shows how to size against it.

Futures on Volumetrica

The futures line trades CME Group contracts on Volumetrica, with market data over a dxFeed connection. Position size is capped in contracts rather than by leverage: for example 2 minis or 20 micros on a $25K account, and 10 minis or 100 micros on a $150K One Step. Every new futures account includes 30 days of market data; after that it is $35 for 30 days, paid from your dashboard.

Futures positions are not held overnight or over the weekend: anything still open at 3:55 PM CT is closed by the system. The CFD vs futures article explains what else changes between the two lines.

The plans on each line

CFD plans

  • Edge 1 Step: one phase, a 10% target, a 4% max daily loss and a 7.5% static max loss. From $43 for $2.5K.
  • Edge 2 Step: two phases of 7.5% then 5%, a 4.5% max daily loss and a 9% static max loss. From $32 for $2.5K.
  • Prime 1 Step and Prime 2 Step: the same targets as Edge, on $50K, $100K and $200K accounts. Once funded, a Prime account earns a salary of 1% of the account size a month, accrued daily, and the fee is refunded in full once the account is funded and in profit after 30 days. From $469 for a $50K Prime 2 Step.
  • Instant Pro and Instant Go: no evaluation, funded at purchase. Instant Pro has a 3.5% max daily loss and a 7% max loss; Instant Go 3% and 6%. From $154 and $72 for $2.5K.

Futures plans

  • One Step: one evaluation with an end-of-day trailing Maximum Loss Limit, no consistency rule and no minimum days during the evaluation. From $81 for $25K.
  • Instant: funded at purchase, with an intraday trailing Maximum Loss Limit, a 20% consistency rule and a Payout Milestone before every payout. From $175 for $25K.

CFD accounts run from $2.5K to $200K and futures accounts from $25K to $150K. One trader may hold up to $1.5M across all accounts. Every plan and size is side by side on Compare every plan.

How the profit is shared

The published split depends on the plan:

  • Edge: 80%, up to 95% as you scale.
  • Instant Pro: 75%, up to 90% as you scale.
  • Instant Go: 70%, up to 85% as you scale.
  • Prime: 80% for the first 30 days funded, then 100%.
  • Futures, both plans: 90%.

On the CFD plans the split rises by 5 points for each 90-day scaling cycle met, up to the plan's ceiling, and a cycle met also raises the account size by 30%. The criteria are written in the Payout Policy, section 15, and explained in the 90-day scaling cycle.

How a payout is requested

You request each payout from your dashboard once your plan's conditions are met. On Edge and Prime the first payout is on demand once the account is funded and the plan's profitable days are done, then weekly. On Instant Pro it is after your first trade, then weekly; on Instant Go after your first trade, then every 14 days. Futures pay on demand once the conditions are met.

Every request gets an automatic receipt confirming it has been received, and it is paid by the method on file for your account: bank transfer, local bank rails in some countries, crypto (USDT, USDC, BTC or ETH), or store credit. WhitePips does not promise when a payout will arrive.

What to read before you choose

A funded trader market is only as good as its rulebook. Before you buy any account, read three things on the WhitePips site: Trading rules, explained, with every rule and its figure on every plan and size; the Payout Policy; and Facts, the company, plans, prices and rules on one page.

WhitePips is run by WhitePip FX Ltd., an International Business Company registered in Saint Lucia (Registration No. 2026-00645). It is a new firm, and trading leveraged products carries a high risk of loss: an evaluation fee buys an assessment, not an account balance.

Educational content, not financial advice. Trading carries risk and most people who attempt an evaluation do not pass it. Accounts are simulated; the rules that bind yours are the ones printed on your plan and in the trading rules.
