Who can answer this question
WhitePips does not certify any account as halal or Sharia-compliant. Scholars differ on leveraged and derivative trading, and whether a particular account meets your standard is for you and a scholar you trust to decide. What a firm can do is publish every term that bears on the question, plainly, before you pay. This article sets those terms out so that you, or your scholar, can judge them.
The questions usually asked
When Muslim traders look at a prop firm account, the questions tend to fall into a few groups:
- Interest. Is any interest charged or paid, for example on positions held overnight?
- Clarity of terms. Is everything that decides the outcome written down and knowable in advance?
- The nature of the arrangement. What exactly does the fee buy, and on what basis is a payout made?
- The instruments. What is being traded, and is anything owned or delivered?
The sections below give the published answer to each.
Swaps on CFD accounts
On every CFD plan, positions held through the daily rollover may be charged swaps, the overnight financing cost of a position. Swaps count toward your loss limits like any other trading cost. On a Wednesday the swap is a triple swap. The rates are set on the trading platform, MetaTrader 5, where you can see them for each instrument.
The Swap-Free add-on
On CFDs there is a Swap-Free add-on, bought with an account on any CFD plan. It removes the overnight swap, including the triple swap on Wednesday, and nothing else:
- It does not allow weekend holding. That is the separate Weekend Holding add-on. Without it, trades still open at 4:45 PM New York time on Friday are closed by the system: the first time is a warning, the second closes the account.
- Every other rule applies as published.
- It is for genuine trading. Under the Trading Rules, section 12.2, where positions opened before the daily rollover (17:00 New York) and closed after it produce a material proportion of an account's profit, the account is referred for review, and the desk may remove that profit or withdraw the add-on.
Weekend holding and swaps explains both add-ons in more detail.
Avoiding overnight positions altogether
If you would rather not hold anything overnight at all, two routes exist:
- On CFDs, close your positions before the daily rollover. Overnight holding is allowed, not required.
- On futures, nothing is held overnight in any case. Every futures position still open at 3:55 PM CT is closed by the system, every session and before the weekend, and it is not a breach.
Leverage, and what sizes a position
Leverage is published per CFD plan: 1:100 on Edge 1 Step, Edge 2 Step and Prime 2 Step, 1:50 on Prime 1 Step, 1:33 on Instant Pro and 1:25 on Instant Go. It is a ceiling, not a requirement; you may always trade smaller. In practice your size is capped by Max. Exposure, the value of your open positions as a share of the balance. Futures have no leverage ratio; they cap the number of contracts you may hold at once.
What is traded, and what is owned
A CFD is a contract on a price. You do not own the underlying currency, metal, index or coin, and nothing is delivered. The same is true of futures here: positions are closed or rolled before expiry, nothing is ever delivered to you, and there is no settlement to fund. The CFD instruments, with their contract details, are listed on Symbols and commission.
What the fee buys, and what a payout is
Every WhitePips account is simulated: it trades live market prices with virtual capital. You never deposit trading funds. The fee is a one-off payment for an evaluation or an instant account, and an evaluation fee buys an assessment, not an account balance. A payout, in the words of the Payout Policy, section 1.2, is a reward paid by the company to a trader who has demonstrated qualifying simulated performance, not a withdrawal of the trader's own funds or of real trading profits.
The profit split is published per plan: Edge 80% up to 95%, Instant Pro 75% up to 90%, Instant Go 70% up to 85%, Prime 80% for the first 30 days funded then 100%, futures 90%. Commission is also published per market. On Edge and Instant: forex $5, metals $6, energies $6 per lot round turn; indices and stocks free; crypto 0.06% of the trade value.
Every term, in writing, before you pay
Clarity of terms is something you can check directly. WhitePips publishes, before checkout:
- every trading rule, with its figure on every plan and size, on Trading rules, explained;
- every plan and price on Compare every plan;
- the Payout Policy and the Trading Rules in full;
- the company: WhitePip FX Ltd., Saint Lucia, Registration No. 2026-00645.
You can also see the terms at work before you pay anything. After identity approval, one free Edge 1 Step $100K CFD account runs for 14 days under the paid rules. It never funds and never pays out.
Questions to take to your scholar
- Is trading a contract on a price acceptable in my school, and on what conditions?
- With the Swap-Free add-on, or closing every position before the rollover, is the remaining arrangement acceptable?
- Is a fee for an assessment, followed by a reward based on performance, acceptable?
- Does using leverage, even below the ceiling, change the answer?
Bring the pages linked above with you, so the answer rests on the terms as written. Trading leveraged products carries a high risk of loss.
